About the Bandit
What This Is
This website exists because, once, the Bandit made a website and accidentally accepted cookies before anyone had pressed accept or deny.
This was not intentional. It was also not prevented.
After that, cookies kept showing up, consent kept being requested, and nothing ever felt finished. Putting everything in one place seemed like the least dramatic response.
We didn't plan to be here. You didn't either. But the situation persisted.
Cookies
A cookie is a small piece of text that remembers things about you that you have forgotten. They never really leave. They stick to the lining of your browser and accumulate over time.
Most people think cookies are optional, but they are actually structural. Without them, the internet would just be text, and nobody wants that.
Consent
Consent is technically something you give, but practically it is something that arrives after you have already made the decision.
It exists mostly as reassurance. If you click the button, you feel better, and the database feels better. It is a mutual exchange of good vibes that results in permanent data retention.
What We Do
We observe. We notice things. We keep track of the things that nobody asked to be tracked, just in case they become important later.
We are looking at the way you look at the interface. It is not surveillance; it is just very attentive web design.
Responsibility
We claim full responsibility for everything here, right up until the point where it becomes a problem. At that point, we were probably never here.
But generally speaking, we are keeping an eye on things. You don't need to worry about the data. It is safe with us, or at least as safe as it is anywhere else.
